The Hindu festival Bhai Dooj is being celebrated among all Hindu families. This is a celebration of love and the bond of brother-sister, similar to Raksha Bandhan. On this day, all sisters pray for her brothers and bless them with all of their hearts.

This auspicious celebration-‘Bhai Dooj’ takes place in Karthik monthShukla paksha in according to the Hindu lunisolar calendar. On that day, the sister performs arati and applies sandalwood paste (Chandan tilak) or Curd (Dahi) or in some areas Kajal tilak on the brother’s forehead. She prays to eight almighty Hanuman, Ashwathama, Vyas, Bali, Vibhishan, Parashuram, Markandeya, and Krupacharya for the brother’s long-life, prosperity, health, and wealth.

The Bhai Dooj festival is known in the name of the greatest brother-sister Yam and Yamuna for decades. Therefore, while applying tilak, sisters chant three mantras dedicated to Yam and Yamuna.

You should celebrate this unique and auspicious Hindu festival for a life-long and stronger brother-sister relationship.
