The Shiva Tandava Stotram is a powerful chant of Lord Shiva. This beautiful Tandava Stotram was written by Lord Shiva’s most passionate devotee King Ravana, centuries ago. The Shiva Tandava Stotram story is that Ravana tried to lift Mount Kailash along with Mahadev to take him to Sri Lanka. To destroy Ravana’s arrogance and obstinacy Lord Shiva presses his toe into the ground, and Ravana’s hand got crushed. To escape from the pain and rage of Lord Shiva, he started to chant the powerful and popular Shiva Tandava Stotram.
