Get Good Fortune & Success In Life By Worshipping Goddess Laxmi

Laxmi puja is an auspicious Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Laxmithe goddess of wealth and the wife of Lord Vishnu. On this day, people clean and decorate the whole house premises with aromatic flowers, and welcome goddess Laxmi by opening up their doors and windows.

It is believed that if you worship goddess Laxmi, she will shower her blessings upon you as wealth and success.

In different Indian regions, Laxmi puja Vidhi (rituals) and celebrations are different. In most areas, Laxmi puja held on Amavasya (new moon day) of Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight) on the Hindu month Ashwin. This puja is considered as the traditional Diwali Puja, which falls on the 3rd day of the Diwali festival or Deepavali.

Yet in West-Bengal, the Laxmi puja is known as Lokkhi puja or Kojagori Lokkhi puja, which falls on Purnima (full mood day) named as Sharada Purnima day on the Ashwin month following by Vijaya Dashami, as per the Hindu lunar calendar. The mothers of every household who are a form of Laxmi (acknowledges by the family), she welcomes the goddess with full devotion. The house floors are being decorated with the traditional Bengali art ‘Alpona’ (a type of rangoli), flowers, and lights (Diyas). Here, Laxmi puja held in the evening or midnight, and people observe Laxmi Puja Vrat on that day.

On the Laxmi puja festival, devotees worship Laxmi with five other deities: Ganesha (as the obstacle remover), Mahalaxmi (goddess of wealth and money), Mahasaraswati (goddess of books and learning), Mahakali, and Kuber (the god of treasure).

Therefore, devotees prepare some tasteful delicacies (Khichdi, Puri, Payasam, fried veggies) and sweets along with ‘Naivedyam’ as the offering to the god.
