Kumbh Mela or Kumbha Mela is the biggest Hindu pilgrimage festival in India. Millions of heads come from around each corner of the globe to dive into the serenity of the festival.

Kumbh Mela takes place between four river-bank pilgrimage sites:

1. Haridwar (Ganges)

2. Prayag or Prayagraj (Ganges-Yamuna Sarasvati rivers confluence)

3. Nashik (Godavari)

4. Ujjain (Shipra)

The festival marks by a holy ritual of taking a dip into the sacred river. The adherents believe that bathing in these rivers will lead them to attain prāyaścitta (penance) from past mistakes and cleanse all their sins.
