Saphala Ekadasi Pastime of Lord Vishnu

Ekadashi is an important day for the Hindu community, is the eleventh lunar day of each of the two lunar phases- “Shukla Paksha” and “Krishna Paksha.” According to Vedic medical texts and Ayurveda, each Ekadashi has its individual significance.

Ekadashi is the day to completely detoxify your body, the day to repair and rejuvenate yourself by observing partial or complete fast. In this article, we will explain another vital Ekadashi, “Saphala Ekadashi.”

The word ‘Saphala’ denotes “success.” Saphala Ekadashi is the first Ekadashi among the twenty-four Ekadashi days in a year, which occurs in Pausha month (January) as per the Hindu calendar. Just like other Ekadashi celebrations, Hindu devotees, especially Vaishnavas, observe fast and worship Lord Vishnu to get success, prosperity, abundance, good fortune, and end the miseries.

The day is also acknowledged as Pausha Krishna Ekadashi, as it happens on the 11th day of the Krishna Paksha.

Saphala Ekadashi Vrat:

Devotees keep Sapahala Ekadashi Vrat (fasting) and pray to Lord Krishna, Vishnu, or Lord Narayana with complete devotion. You can observe the same following by chanting the Vishnu Mantra Om Namah Bhagavate Vasudevaya” to get rewarded good fortune by Lord Vishnu.
