The Swastika is an auspicious and ancient religious sign. Hindus draw swastika icons in temples, houses, cars, wedding cards, ashrams, and offices. It is a geometrical shape pointing clockwise or anti-clockwise sequentially.

 

The swastika came from Sanskrit word Svastika’, the combination of Su means good’, and Asti means to exist’. Which collaboratively means conducive to well-being’. The swastika sign represents the Sun (Surya). It is the symbol of good fortune and prosperity.

It has immense spiritual and religious significance in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. It plays a remarkable role in Diwali in the art form of Rangoli and Diya. Hindus are using this symbol since the early Vedic period. In Hinduism, it is one of the very important symbols. Hindus draw the swastika symbol in front of the door to welcome a newborn.

The clockwise sign is the swastika, which signifies the solar symbol’. That means the motion of the Sun in India. And the counterclockwise icon called svastika. The svastika represents the terrifying form of Goddess Durga and Goddess Kali in tantric traditions.

 

The Swastika also embodies karma, wheel, and motion. You must consider drawing the Swastika sign in your house for some good luck.
