Durga Puja is a celebration of the Divine Mother’s arrival on earth. Maha Shashthi is the day that officially begins the festival through the Bodhon ritual, where Maa Durga is ceremonially awakened.

Shasthi is the first major day of Durga Puja. On this day, Maa Durga is invoked through Bodhan, the sacred awakening ritual, symbolizing her descent from the divine realm to bless her devotees.

Maha Panchami, the fifth day of Durga Puja, marks the moment when Maa Durga’s spirit is ceremonially welcomed from her divine abode into the earthly realm.
