Valmiki Ramayana and Tulsi Das Ramcharitmanas are two beloved versions of the Ramayana story. While both tell of Lord Ram’s life, they have some differences. Valmiki wrote in Sanskrit around 500 BCE, while Tulsi Das penned his version in Awadhi much later, around 1575 CE.
Valmiki’s work is longer and more detailed, while Tulsi Das’s version is more devotional. The characters’ portrayals also differ slightly between the two. Despite these differences, both versions have captured hearts for generations, sharing timeless lessons of duty, love, and righteousness.
