According to Ayurveda, Ojas is the vital essence of all body tissues. It is responsible for the overall health, well-being, immunity, intelligence, and thought-process of an individual. In Ayurveda, Ojas is called Vyadhikshamatva’ or Bala’– the body’s immunity. It prevents the diseases as well as helps to recover speedily from any illness. 

In Ancient timesAcharyas (Ayurveda teachers) encouraged the use of Rasayana (rejuvenating agents) to enhance the Ojas. The rejuvenating agents found in medicinal plants that used to support and improve our physical and mental health.

Ashwagandha (Indian Ginseng)

Ashwagandha is a nourishing plant that has immense medicinal properties. It strengthens immunity post an illness. It has powerful anti-inflammatory agents. The health benefits of Ashwagandha is extensive as it helps in conditions like autoimmune diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, including specific skin diseases. It is efficient to treat nervous system disorders, improve brain cell function, and reduce anxiety, including depression, nervous exhaustion.

Amla (Indian gooseberry)

Amla is perhaps the richest source of Vitamin C. It is essential for overall immunity. There are various health benefits of Amla. It rejuvenates and revitalizes the body systems, eliminates the cause of the gastrointestinal tract. Amla also stimulates the regeneration of red blood cells and improves hemoglobin content in the body. Ayurveda recommends Amla for the Pitta condition due to its cooling component that removes excess heat from the body. It also soothes joint pain due to its anti-inflammatory properties. 

Tulsi (Holy Basil)

Tulsi is a complete medicinal herb having anti-infective properties. It is useful for several respiratory tract infections like cold, cough, asthma, sore throat, etc. Some incredible Tulsi benefits work incredibly to remove excessive Kapha from the lungs. It is a natural stimulant that increases energy in the body and circulation. It is even beneficial for skin diseases and ulcers.

Mulethi (Liquorice root)

Mulethi is an excellent Ayurvedic home remedy for common ailments like cough and cold. This sweet in taste root is remarkably efficacious to treat Vata disorders. Mulethis has an anti-microbial agent called Glycyrrhizin (a saponin compound), which helps to improve immunity. 

Adrak (Ginger)
