“Kalashtami”, though the festive name sounds terrific, it has undeniable significance in Hinduism. Kalasthami or Kala Asthami day is marked and dedicated to Kal Bhairava, the fierce and wrathful manifestation of Lord Shiva. Kala Bhairava is the mythological character, furious and angry, associated with destruction.

Kalashtami falls on b (8th day) of Krishna Paksha (waning moon) of every Hindu lunar month.

On this day, devotees observe fasting and praise Lord Bhairava. As per Hinduism, the Kalashtami falls on Sunday or Tuesday is more valuable and influential than other days. However, people wake up on that day before sunrise and perform Bhairava Puja at Kaal Bhairav temple.

Followers of Kala Bhairava worship him to attain success, prosperity, and well-being. They too believe, Lord Bhairava removes all obstacles from their life, forgive and wash away sins and guide them to liberation.
