Few Unknown Facts Of Jaipur’s Birla Temple You Should Know

Birla Temple of Jaipur is a famous temple, which is also known as Prem Mandir or Lakshmi Narayan Temple. This temple is a phenomenon and was built in 1988 by the well-known Birla family.

Besides this temple, the Birla family has constructed other Hindu temples in different cities, demonstrate the classical architectural style of the 10-12th century is Ghandela or Ghaulukya.

About Birla Temple:

The temple is surrounded by lush green lawns and is listed among the major attraction of Pink City Jaipur. It is said to have been sculpted out of one single piece of marble.

The key highlight of Birla Temple is that it is entirely constructed using white marble or sandstone with finely embedded sculptures and carvings. As per legends, the Maharaja has given this temple land to the Birlas in exchange for a token amount of just Rs.1.

An idol of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi is installed in the temple known as Lakshmi-Narayan. Both divinities add up to the pure and peaceful aura of the temple.

However, the temple hall features the legends of Lord Vishnu, Goddess Durga, Goddess Laxmi, and other deities, which are imprinted in the Gothic-styled stained glass windows. It adds an innovative essence of both religious structures with a contemporary look in the temple.
