Vastu Shastra – Science Or Myth?

Vastu Shastra is a long-established Hindu system of architecture that precisely means “Science of Architecture.” One can simply understand Vastu Shastra as the science of dwelling, which is Vedic architectural science.

These sets of Shastras (a work of sacred scripture) are those ancient Sanskrit manuals of architecture, which contain Vastu Vidya (knowledge of dwelling). The textual part of Vastu Vidya is the latter being of the broader knowledge about design theories.

However, Vastu Shastra is also known by several names in southern regions as Tantrasamuchaya, Manushyalaya Chandrika, Tachu Shastra, and Silparatna. Most interestingly, The Vastu teachings are given by Lord Brahma to Lord Vishwakarma – the principal architect of the universe.

The logic behind Vastu Shastra:

Nevertheless, Vastu Shastra and its believers have equally evolved over the centuries with the help of its experience. The correct application of Vastu Shastra principles can create an even balance between the internal and external energies. Hence, people believe that following Vastu Shastra’s suggestions can pave the way for happiness and prosperity.

Archeologists debate that the fundamental principles of the Vastu Shastra study were primarily used in the design of ancient monuments. And the most validating truth of Vastu Shastra is the vintage buildings, temples, and Architectural sculpture.
